Why is Surya Salt® considered a nutritious salt?
Surya Salt® includes a spectrum of naturally occurring, essential minerals as nature intended. Surya Salt® supplies the body with over 80 vital trace minerals and elements, along with a proper balance of sodium chloride (a scientific name for salt).
The brine and minerals, found in this salt, are natural electrolytes that give your body a “positive electrical charge”. Our health depends on the abundance of these vital minerals found in Surya Salt® to assimilate vitamins and nutrients to our cells. At Saboo Sodium Chloro Ltd, home of the brand Surya Salt, we believe that it is a misunderstanding that “all” salt is harmful to you. Perhaps, it’s what’s been added to other salts that have an unsettling side effect to our health.
Why is it called “Surya” and what is the significance of the Logo?
The word ‘Surya’ refers to the all-mighty Sun, which is the ultimate source of energy in the world. Surya represents soul, willpower, fame, general vitality, courage and kingship.
The Rajput with the sword represents the chivalrous and brave Rajput warrior of the region.
The story goes that the Goddess Shakambari blessed Maharaja Prithvi Raj Chauhan that whatever distance he covered with his horse during night, would turn into silver. The King sped with his horse on a full moon night, then just before dawn, his curiosity got the better of him and he turned to see his ‘fields of silver’. All the silver turned to salt and even today the salt fields sparkle like silver on full moon nights.
Does Surya Salt® contain Iodine?
Our salt only contains iodine if it states so on the packaging. If the salt is not labeled as iodized, it does not contain any.
Does this salt expire?
Salt is traditionally a natural preservative! Because salt is a mineral, not an organic substance, it does not spoil. The salt itself does not expire but added ingredients such as iodine may reduce shelf life. The shelf life of Iodized Salt is about 5 years.
Why is iodine added to salt?
Iodized salt for the table is used in order to reduce the incidence of simple goiter. Iodine is vital to the proper functioning of the thyroid gland and the prevention of goiter.
My salt seems wet, is that normal?
Yes, our motto is: “The Secret is in the Brine”! The moisture in Surya Salt® is not water, but rather mineral-rich brine. This brine is lower in sodium chloride and higher in beneficial minerals and elements. There are brine inclusions within the natural Surya Salt® whole crystal. Surya Salt® is alkaline when dissolved in water. Doctors recommend our salt, over other salts, because of the increased bioavailability of the minerals contained in the brine!
How do you prevent salt from caking?
Even though an anti-caking agent is added to Surya Salt, salt can cake under extreme humidity. If these conditions are experienced, you may wish to keep salt in a Tupperware®-like container or sealed in a plastic bag to prevent the salt from absorbing the moisture from the air.
How does your company ensure quality, especially with all the hazards in the environment?
At Saboo Sodium Chloro Ltd. we intensely analyze our salt. We fully stand behind the therapeutic value and health benefit of this salt, thus we take great measures to ensure its purity and maintain transparency as a company.
Some of the minerals and elements on your analysis are unclear to me, can you explain that?
Our salt contains over 80 trace minerals and elements that are essential to the human body. Some of those elements are in such low, trace amounts that they are barely detectable. These elements are from the earth and are unavoidable because they are naturally occurring in the air we breathe, water we drink, and even in the fruits and vegetable we eat. They are highly beneficial to health.
