FORT AUWA
Immerse Yourself in Royalty: A Luxurious Escape at Fort Auwa
800 years Old Fort
The Company is running a grand heritage hotel in the prestigious 16th century Fort Auwa, Pali-Marwar district of Rajasthan.
Fort Auwa, stands tall in the rich soil of innocence, sacrifice, valour and reverence called Auwa, a quaint village in Pali district of Rajasthan.
Untouched by the pace of modern times, here kids hum latest Hindi songs yet fly kites, women wear long ‘ghunghats’ and swing babies in cloth ‘palnas’, men make potteries to earn a living and villagers bow heads in reverence to greet the royal family. It’s not the Rajasthan you know, its offbeat, its forgotten Rajasthan. You may not find a BMW here, but you will get to see the vintage Buick.
It’s a place where the relics of 1857 mutiny (first war of independence) are still preserved and the forgotten tale of extreme sacrifice for human freedom by the unsung heroes of the Satyagraha movement in Rajasthan (1643) are still recalled by the locals who take pride in it. Walk through the old heritage fort with ancient temples, ruins and artifacts such as the parrot firing canon, tour the old meter gauge train and picnic on the sand dunes by Phulad Dam…Lose yourself within the British Raj…Come, GET LOST with Fort Auwa!
The Fort houses 18 heritage rooms, not one similar to the next in décor and appeal. In the architecture of these rooms a beautiful blend of traditional Hindu sculpture with Neo-Colonial style can be seen. Every room has a garden or a verandah and as you gaze out in to the outdoors it almost seems like time has taken a breather. You can hear the calm and feel the unruffled air.
